About Me...
My husband Dwayne, son Jack, and me at the Oregon Coast.
I love teaching young children. In the first grade I get to teach the whole child. We work on social and emotional skills just as much as abc's and 123's. I love the wonder and joy that the students bring to school everyday.
2016-2017 will be my 12th year teaching and my fourth year at Garfield. I started teaching in 2001 in a 4/5 combination class, then moved to 4th grade, and then reading intervention at Star Elementary. I took some time off when my family moved to Columbus, Ohio for my husband's graduate school. In Columbus I got to stay home with my son. That amazing experience gave me the opportunity to discover a real love for early childhood education, which brought me back to the kindergarten classroom for 3 years. I am so excited to have graduated to first grade!
